Diarmaid has extensive usability focused product development knowledge, (CEM, CMS, CRM, SEO, SEM, on-line advertising and Content Strategy), he is interested in new challenges and opportunities to innovate business on the internet. Diarmaid’s specialities lie across Product innovation and development, user experience architecture, online advertising provision, content and business development.

Arthur Moan

Arthur heads up our UK operation which is growing at a rapid rate since its launch in September 2009. The skills and experience he brings to the management team covers strategic consultancy, sales & marketing, and project delivery across all digital channels, user interfaces and mobile technology with an unusual blend of commercial and creative flair. His background is User Experience having spent 5 years working at Foviance, one of Europe’s largest user experience consultancies. “Over the past 6 years I have worked with the largest and most successful online businesses in the UK and globally helping them research and design compelling, usable and commercially successful web experiences. Over recent years I have seen first hand how the market has shifted towards more sophisticated research methodologies such as those provided by UserZoom”. When not UserZooming, Arthur spends quality time with his family in the Cheshire countryside and plays the odd game of football; and of course, supporting his team Manchester United.

Karen Windahl Finnigan

Head of User Experience & Creative – Capgemini

Windahl is the Head of User Experience at Capgemini and runs multidisciplinary teams of UX consultants, creatives, strategists, researchers and technologists across the UK. She began working in digital right from the beginning in the late 80’s. She studied at Seneca College for technology and the Ontario College of Art, both in Canada. While working in advertising as an award winning Art Director at BBDO she immediately recognised the potential made the leap. Her first clients were Columbia Music and Chrysler. She is fascinated by what is coming next and the impact technology is having in business and everyday life. Windahl is very well known in the industry as an advocate of greater collaboration and advancing UX. Her interest is in improving or creating new business models through UX as well as advancing value for end users. She has been engaged in complex projects where solving problems involves process re-engineering which requires a lot of research and forecasting as well as analysis to drive innovation. She has worked with British Airways, Sony Playstation, JP Morgan, Royal Mail, Hewlette Packard, Tesco, Ocado and Marks & Spencer. UX has become more pervasive as it is now threaded through multiple devices and systems as well situational context. This convergence means examining and testing the UX as a whole which includes emotional factors, usability, measurement, cultural aspects, story telling, prototyping, visual thinking, customer insights and scenarios to create innovative experiences.

Brian Hoadley

MD of Digital Optimist – A strategic user experience consultancy

Brian began his career at the back-end as a telecommunications engineer. An early adopter and curious technologist, he conducted innovative multiplexing trials in the United States with Bell Labs and several Bell operating companies. Frequently finding himself the bridge between technologists and non-technical staff and customers, he quickly learned the value of making technology simple and usable. Over the last 25 years he moved from designing mobile, digital microwave and fibre optic communications networks to project managing and designing UI experiences for users. Working in digital since the early nineties, he has worked with many international brands delivering world class digital products. Projects by Brian and his teams, like the innovative 4oD app for Channel 4 and the re-launched Lonely Planet site have been winning awards and delighting users over many years. Over the last few years Brian has provided strategic UX consultation and team management on agile projects to customers ranging from early funded tech start-ups to major broadcasters, the UK Government, global investment banks and technology providers. Brian is currently the Acting VP of Product for Duedil.


David Hughes

David Hughes

Director of User Experience –

David is a highly experienced Director of User Experience, currently at Expedia. He works in the online industry where in the last 16 years he has created market leading digital experiences for global brands including American Express, Psion, 3Com, Vodafone and Barclaycard. Whilst at Barclaycard, as well as creating the award winning MyBarclaycard, David was instrumental in developing their social media strategy, and making them one of the first UK financial services companies to engage with their customers via social networks. David believes online and digital, in all forms, are the heart of a company’s customer and brand experience.

Head of European User Experience & Research – eBay

Greg heads up European User Experience and Research at eBay. He specialises in User research, usability testing, digital strategy, public sector, e-commerce, e-procurement, energy industry and multi-channel retail. Greg has been an online veteran for a large number of years where during his recent Rspansearch Director role at LBi he created digital experiences for global brands including Turkcell, Virgin Atlantic, BT, Saudi Aramco, MoneyGram, M&S, Etihad Airways, Invesco Perpetual, Lloyds TSB, Electrolux, Unilever, E-ON, T-Mobile. Prior to LBi Greg spent his time at DHL Supply Chain, Unipart and Mesania in B2B and B2C projects from e-procurement, logistics and full supply chain services to starting up a B2B transactional e-marketplace.

David recently joined us to lead our Client Services team in the UK to provide our clients with best in breed user experience research solutions aligned to their UX strategy. David is responsible for maintaining and fostering relationships with UserZoom clients and other major players in this region as well as sharing his extensive experience within both qualitative and quantitative UX Research and Design. David has over twelve years of experience within User Experience and User Centred Design, working client side for big brands such as Littlewoods Shop Direct, Premier Farnell, Aviva, Bupa and Lexis Nexis. David is very excited to be at UserZoom, as a passionate UX practitioner he understands the true value and potential that the UserZoom products can bring to other people like himself, not only in the UX field but across the entire business.
